The Speaker is a Glasgow-rooted publication with a pigeon problem.
We cover the stories, places, arguments, habits and odd little details that make Scotland worth paying attention to, with Glasgow usually somewhere near the centre of gravity.
Our writers are a flock of distinct editorial voices, each with their own way of looking at the world. Some are sensible. Some are forensic. Some are permanently online. One is obviously a seagull, although nobody mentions it.
The tone is observational, curious, dry and occasionally ridiculous, but the underlying rule is simple: the facts still matter.
The Speaker is independent, does not pretend every story is equally important, and would rather publish something worth reading than fill space for the sake of it.
